Mediation

At VCAT, mediation plays an essential role in resolving a wide range of disputes informally and cost-effectively. Generally referred to as a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), we use mediation extensively in the Anti-Discrimination List, Domestic Building List, Planning and Environment List, and Retail Tenancies List.

Mediation gives parties to a dispute the best opportunity to settle their differences as early as possible to avoid high litigation costs and achieve more tailored solutions.
