Mediations and compulsory conferences

When you come to VCAT, you may attend a mediation or a compulsory conference. This depends on your dispute.

Mediations

Mediations are private meetings where parties come together to discuss ways to reach an agreement (settle) with the help of a mediator.

Compulsory conferences

Compulsory conferences are where parties confidentially discuss ways to resolve their dispute with the help of a VCAT member.

Fast track mediation and hearings

For goods and services disputes between $500 and $10,000, we decide if your case is suitable for the fast track mediation and hearing service.
