Seeking feedback on initiating orders in Planning

Posted on 17 Aug 2015

VCAT is inviting people who have used our new initiating orders and application forms in the Planning and Environment List to attend a feedback forum on Thursday 10 September 2015 from 5pm-6pm.

The feedback forum, to be held at 55 King Street, Melbourne, will be attended by VCAT members in the Planning and Environment List who are keen to receive feedback on the initiating orders, application forms and consequential changes to VCAT's listing procedures, introduced in early 2015.

We are interested in your thoughts and experiences of what's working and what could be improved.

Please register your attendance by email to by Friday 4 September 2015.
If you cannot attend the forum but would like to provide feedback, please email your comments to by 4 September.

About the new initiating orders and application forms

On 2 February 2015, VCAT introduced new initiating orders for all matters in the Planning and Environment List. The orders specify the dates for hearings and any compulsory conferences. They also specify what each party or agency needs to do and by what date.

New application forms supporting the orders were introduced in January 2015. They require applicants to provide more information with their application than was previously the case.  This information is required to enable VCAT to plan the entire course of the proceeding, including the hearing date and a possible date for alternative dispute resolution.
