2022-23 Annual Report tabled to Parliament

2 November 2023

VCAT has tabled its annual report for the 2022/23 financial year. We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the many achievements and milestones of the last year, which has featured positive outcomes and significant challenges.

The end of the financial year saw a vastly improved clearance rate in the Residential Tenancies Division, representing a massive improvement in our management of the backlog of cases.

During the year, we continued to return to in-person hearing, while also leveraging the insights and the technological advances of previous years to offer a more flexible approach to hearing formats for our users.

We made continued progress on our digitally enabled service transformation program and are moving towards more efficient and contemporary ways of working, shifting from paper-based working processes to a fully digital environment.

Last financial year we also announced our new Melbourne CBD premises at 300 La Trobe St. These new premises will be equipped to better meet the needs of both our future workforce and users and is a key component of VCAT’s transformation vision.
