VCAT Planning and Environment is going digital!

VCAT is digitising processes in its Planning and Environment lists in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic thanks to a $5.2 million funding boost from the Victorian Government.

Transitioning from existing manual and hardcopy-based systems to an end-to-end digital solution will assist VCAT’s Planning and Environment Division to resume operations while working closely with key stakeholders.

VCAT suspended all in-person hearings in March to safeguard the wellbeing of its staff and the general public, and transitioned Residential Tenancy, Guardianship and other urgent matters to telephone hearings while prioritising re-listing of adjourned matters.

As the project, rolls out over the coming weeks VCAT will be able to greatly expand the current range of hearings.
