How can I get a recording or transcription?
Anyone can ask for an audio recording or written transcript of the hearing. You pay a fee.
I’m mentioned in an application about guardians, administrators or powers of attorney. Can I see the file?
Everyone mentioned in an application can come to the hearing, including ‘interested persons’.
Should I get a lawyer?
VCAT cannot give legal advice. If you do choose to get legal advice, you will need to pay any costs.

Who pays for my legal costs?
At VCAT, parties are expected to pay their own costs, unless we order otherwise.
VCAT may only award costs if it is fair to do so.
