Planning hearings and compulsory conferences at suburban VCAT venues

Some planning cases will now be heard at VCAT locations outside the Melbourne CBD, specifically at Bundoora, Frankston and Oakleigh.

New applications received in the Planning and Environment List under section 80 (conditions appeals) and section 82 (objector appeals) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 are likely to be held at a VCAT venue closest to the land related to the case.  

Some applications with compulsory conferences or hearings from 23 October 2023 onwards will also be scheduled at the relevant VCAT location. Be sure to carefully read orders sent to you so that you know where the compulsory conference or hearing will be held.

We will usually conduct hearings and compulsory conferences at these venues for the following municipalities:
