Review of Victoria's residential tenancy laws

Posted on 22 Apr 2016

The Victorian Government is reviewing the Residential Tenancies Act 1997, as part of its Fairer Safer Housing program.

This legislation is the main source of consumer protection for Victorians living in rental housing, and outlines the obligations of landlords and property managers.

The review is considering how regulation can best meet the current and future needs and expectations of participants in the modern rental market.
